Lee Coren

Tel Aviv Jaffa, Israel

Lee Coren graduated from the graphic design program of Shenkar College in Tel Aviv, Israel 3 years ago with an undeniable tingle in her fingers for textile designs, a field she had relatively little experience in. She indulged her curiosity and began taking different courses to expand her knowledge and immediately felt at home with the process of traditional & modern printing techniques.

“My designs are inspired by the melding of urban surroundings and dreamy escapism,” says Lee. “They are screen printed fabrics and original prints from scenery captured on camera that transformed into versatile essentials, built to last but never boring.”

The items in Lee Coren’s label are modern with a wide array of patterns including those of landscapes, urban odds and ends and elements of nature. “Screen-printing wasn’t my first choice,” says Lee. “I took a class in screen-printing and for 10 weeks I actually hated it, but on the last 2 classes I fell in love with the technique and how it sparks life into my designs and knew it was it.”

A common theme in Lee Coren’s textiles is the mixture of two strong elements in her life – a buzzing urban surrounding and the need for escapism and a breath of fresh air. Early on, the designer made the decision to keep her designs cruelty-free and work exclusively with vegan materials. The collection features handmade screen printed fabrics as well as original digital prints photographed throughout the designer’s travels. With a particular approach to patterns and the use of airy fabrics, Lee Coren brings moments of pastoral escapism into the busy everyday of urban living.
