Allison has always been obsessed with color – and lots of it. Growing up, her mother, who is an artist, was her inspiration and Allison was constantly creating her own “art.” After going to college to study fashion and participating in competitions, internships and just about everything she could do in the industry, she landed a job in fashion. Five years later she took a leap of faith and left her corporate job to start her own business.
“Today I feel so lucky to wake up every morning excited to create,” she says. “My inspiration comes from the oddest things: an old, brightly-colored door; a baby elephant; a fruit stand; an old map – you name it. When I see something that makes me smile, I try to incorporate it into my work.” Allison and her husband recently sold their house in Florida and are settling into life in Ecuador. “I’m fortunate that I just need a blank sheet of canvas, my sewing machine, paint, and my imagination, to do my work.”
